Slingshot Rental Near Fort Worth, TX
Part of Slingshot Rental
About an hour from Fort Worth, worth the drive
Ennis Slingshot Experience is roughly 57 miles from Fort Worth — about a 59-minute drive. We're honest about the distance: this isn't a rental you pick up on your way through town, it's a destination drive. Part of our Slingshot rental lineup, the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails are the reason the extra miles are worth it — open, scenic roads that don't exist inside Fort Worth city limits.

No independent Slingshot rental currently operates specifically for Fort Worth — most Texas listings serve Fort Worth from Arlington or Dallas-based fleets. We're closer in spirit to a scenic day trip than a quick city rental, and the Bluebonnet Trails are the payoff.
Why the drive is worth it
A typical Slingshot rental hour in the DFW area runs around $150 with a deposit; our packages start at $69.99 with insurance included and no deposit. But the bigger difference is the roads — the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails are more than 40 miles of mapped, low-traffic driving loops through farmland and wildflower fields, not a stretch of city street. See Pricing for the full breakdown.
Make it a day
- Ride the trails. Book the Bluebonnet Trail Experience for the full 2-hour route.
- Explore downtown Ennis. Historic downtown has local restaurants and shops within minutes of the Welcome Center — see Things to Do in Ennis, TX.
- Consider Waxahachie. About 20 minutes past Ennis on your way back toward Fort Worth, Waxahachie & Ellis County pairs well during Scarborough Renaissance Festival season.
When to come
The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails are open April 1–30, with peak bloom typically around the third week of the month. The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival — historically the second or third weekend of April — caps the season. Full trail and bloom-timing detail is on the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails guide.
What it costs and what you need
Packages run $69.99 to $169, insurance included, no deposit. Drivers must be 21 or older with a standard Texas driver's license — no motorcycle license required under Tex. Transp. Code §521.085(b), since the Slingshot is classified as an autocycle. Full detail is on Requirements.
Comparing the drive to what you'd get closer to home
Fort Worth doesn't currently have a dedicated Slingshot rental operator of its own — most options serving the west side of DFW are based in Arlington, closer to the Dallas side of the metro than to Fort Worth itself. So the honest comparison isn't "drive an hour to Ennis instead of five minutes to a local option" — it's "drive an hour to Ennis instead of 30–40 minutes to Arlington." Given that neither option is truly local from Fort Worth, the extra 20 minutes to reach the actual Bluebonnet Trails, rather than a city rental lot, is a reasonable trade for most riders.
What you'll actually be driving
Every vehicle is a Polaris Slingshot with AutoDrive — an automatic transmission, no clutch, handling like a car — powered by Polaris's ProStar 2.0L four-cylinder engine, up to 204 hp depending on trim. Two people ride side by side in an open cockpit. If it's your first time, a short orientation and supervised practice loop happens before you're driving on your own.
