Your First 15 Minutes: How Our Orientation and Safety Briefing Works

Nobody gets handed keys cold. Every booking includes about 15 minutes of orientation before the actual ride starts, and here's roughly how it breaks down.

Check-In at the Welcome Center

Everything starts at the Ennis Welcome Center, 201 NW Main St. We confirm your booking and get you squared away before you even see the vehicle.

The Walkaround

Before you get in, I walk you around the Slingshot itself — where the roll hoop sits, how the mirrors are positioned, the seat belts, and where the trail map lives in the glove box.

Controls Explained

Steering wheel, pedals, AutoDrive basics — if you can drive a car, you can drive this. The honest truth is there's not much to explain mechanically; the bigger adjustment is the seating position and the wind, which no amount of talking fixes. That's what the next step is for.

The Supervised Test Loop

A short, low-speed loop with staff present — this is the step that actually converts nerves into confidence, not the talking beforehand. Almost everyone finishes this loop more relaxed than they started it.

The Helmet Conversation

Texas doesn't require a helmet for most riders 21 and older who've completed a training course or carry qualifying health insurance (Tex. Transp. Code §661.003), and it does require one under 21. Hand-Back and the Ride Itself

Once orientation wraps, you're on your route. Staff stay reachable for the length of your booking — if something feels off once you're out there, that's what we're there for.
